BIke RAce in Tallahassee! next weekend!! get excited!

we still need volunteers, so if you’re not going to race, let me know!!!
i heard that people were getting together this saturday, meeting at 9am at lake elberta, off of lake bradford road.
A sad yesterday in Wash DC, read the article here:Washington Post article and DCist article
Just to think that this could have been anybody in any city. I ride those cross streets all the time… A group on DCfixed.com collectively planned a ghost bike to commemorate Allison Swanson and there are talks of a ride of silence sometime soon, escorted by local police. She graduated from Amherst.
Here are some photographs that I picked up off the dcfixed.com blogs

Keep an eye on the road, riders.
Hey TallyCats!
Us folk over at FatoftheLand.org are getting things organized for
a two-day Mt.Bike Fest (Dec.6-7).
There will be a ~70! mile enduro, the Cola-Rolla on that Sat.
And a Festival at Tom Brown with band, food, parts-swap, dirt criterium
AND HOPEFULLY A DIRT ALLY-CAT.
But obviously, we’ll need yall’s expert leadership and help to make a great AllyCat.
We’ll list TallyCat and Krank-It-Up as sponsors, etc. share what we can,
And advert. the hell out of it to a SE regional audience.
Yall give me a call or email this week, if you want to help us.

Two upcoming events in philly that are going to rule:

“Although this is an all girl’s alleycat boys in dresses are just to funny so there will be an awesome powderpuff prize up for grabs, along with 1st out of town and individual checkpoint winners. There are a few other categories as well as I wanted to make it so that anyone can win, there are six simple checkpoints so don’t go thinking you can’t do it because you can! Costumes and general fabulousness are strongly encouraged.”
Then:

Thursday July 24th: Show!! Details TBA
Friday July 25th: Alleycat!! Race starts at 6pm at City Hall.
Saturday July 26th: Main Event: Team scavenger hunt!!
